Seasons of Friendship

My new Stampin’ Up Stamp came in!!  I love the SEASONS of FRIENDSHIP stamp!!  It’s extremely versatile and leaves room for creativity!

This weekend my friend Sarah and I are stampin’ and making cards.  We figured we should start our christmas cards early, so that we actually have enough to mail out.  (hehehe).  Every year, I tell myself I’m going to make cards but I never do.  I might actually do it Christmas 2009!!  :)

I made 8 of these tonight…for my Stampin’ Up card swap!
I used Stampin’ Up inks (Olive, Curry, Real Red and Chocolate Chip Brown).  I used Staz On for my sentiment and then  I embossed it.  I stamped the little birdie, versamarked it, embossed it and cut it out.  It is mounted with a pop dot.  The patterned Paper is from Mark’s Paper Company.  And of course, I LOVE LOVE LOVE that red gingham ribbon (which is from Michael’s…huge reel for $4.00!)  Are you in love with that stamp or what??  It came with a snowflake, and a little flower, so you can change it up and get really creative with it!

Back to school

School starts in just a few days.  It seems like so long ago that I was sending my baby girl off to Kindergarten.  This year, I’m sending her off to her final year of high school.  That’s right…she’ll be a senior!  It is so hard to believe sometimes – and I wonder where in the time has gone.

You know those times your friends say, “cherish the time now before they grow up” “they grow up fast'”…well, it really is true!!  I feel so blessed to have my kids.

So in honour of back to school and remembering how I was feeling sending my little off to High School in a few days, I made this picture frame, which I plan on putting in my bedroom.

Doesn’t that photo just break your heart??  What a cutie patootie she was, but oh so very sad to be leaving mommy.  I was a mess too – her daddy had to take her to school, while I sat at home and cried until she got home.

And Jory starts high school this year!!!

My first publish!!

I spy with my little eye, something on Page 114.

My first published layout is in there!  I’m so excited I’m happier than a pig in mud!  I got my copy in the mail today – but I think you should be able to pick up your copy September 1st.  canadianscrapbooker
You can go to their website – for more information about the magazine.  It’s my favorite magazine – and I’m not just saying that because they published my work.  It really is an awesome one with a tonne of talented artists featured!!  Inspiration, creativity and FRESHNESS.  CHEERS!!  Yay me!!

Been a while eh?

Been a while since I updated my blog.  I’m so bad!!  We’ve been insanely busy at work, so I’ve not had much time to anything other than clean and shop for groceries.  I’ve been looking at Jory lately and really surprised at how tall he’s gotten!!  I think he’s taller than both Kayla and I now.

Kayla is doing well at work!  She surprised even me!  AND the best part is that she is mostly enjoying it.  She loves the money the best!

Kids go back to school next Monday!  I can’t believe the summer has gone by so quickly.  Weather has been pretty crappy – it’s the year without a SUMMER!
I’ve been doing a bit of scrapping – Design Team duties – but that’s been keeping me happy.  :)
We’re just sitting here watching Dane Cook on the Comedy Network…man that guy is funny!  We’re laughing our butts off!

I’m patiently waiting for Canadian Scrapbooker to send me my copy of the September/October Issue of their magazine.  My layout is published in there!  I’m pretty excited!!

My Baby has her first job!

That’s right!!  I’ve been really swamped at the office.  So today, I got the Okay from the boss to hire Kayla as my assistant for the remainder of the summer.  My Kayla is going to be working for me.  She is gonna make a whack of cash…at minimum wage, full time for the next 4 weeks…she will make about $1200.00.   More than that though…she’ll do alot of growing up – and hopefully spend less time on her cell phone and sleeping!

At the end of the school year, she brought home this art she made in school.  I completely forgot to show you – that is until tonight when I was browsing through my pictures and cleaning up old stuff.  Check these out…she made these!  Don’t ask me how she made it…she just did!!  Cool aren’t they???

Holidays are always too short.

I am back from the glorious week at the cottage. The weather wasn’t as great as it was last year, but we did manage a few sunny periods and two entire days of sunshine.

We did lots of fishing, boating, feeding chipmunks, relaxing and getting hydrated (wink wink).  MY KIND OF HOLIDAY!

I have a few pictures to share with you.  **these are the ones I can use because I have permission…ha!

I’ll be busy busy busy this week getting challenges and projects ready for the Life Preserver’s Summer Celebration Crop next weekend.  (July 17 – 19).  You might not hear much from me until then.  Take care – good to be back (But I could do without work).  Ugh…

Flip flop for this flip flop album!

I apologize for the lack in blogging lately – been sooooooooooo busy!  Today is our country’s birthday!!  I’m celebrating by sending Kayla and Jory to spend it with their grandparents downtown, while I rest, clean and scrapbook.  Ahhhhhhh…that’s rite.  It’s been a very stressful and crazy couple of weeks – work is so busy and I’m getting ready to go away to the cottage for a week, beginning next Saturday!  So…we’ve been cleaning and doing laundry.  The laundry never seems to end does it??

Using the June Featured kit from Life Preserver’s Scrapbook Club, I made this adorable little Flip Flop Album.  The flip flops were from the Dollarama and some of the foam embellies were from my stash but most of this came from Cosmo Cricket’s Snorkel Line (and of course Bazzil Cardstock).  I’m showing you a few pages that I got completed so far, although I will need to get some more photos printed before I complete it (don’t you hate it when you run out of ink in your printer when you are trying to work on a special project?  Grrrr.

So much happened since i last blogged.

Jory graduated.  My little baby is no longer in grade school.  We had a fun day and he looked so handsome.  I know you saw the pictures on Facebook, but here are a few of my favorite from that day.

I also got some great photos of Kayla.  She’s looking more and more adorablely beautiful these days.  She’s gonna be 17 at the end of Summer…and I think I'll start keeping a baseball bat at the front door.
