Only 3 more sleeps

Only 3 more sleeps and i get so see my darling. I don't think it's ever been this long in between visits. Trying to keep busy to keep my mind off of it. :)

Happy 40th Sis!!

Last night we celebrated my older sister's 40th Birthday Party. (happy birthday Stella!). We went to East Side Marios for dinner. Mmmm...i love ESM. (Dennis and I used to always go there for lunch during the week, when we first started dating...so it's a special place for me.) Anyways...Stella looked surprised! hehehe. AND of course it was awesome to see Mom and Dad and David...and everyone together! We took these family photos...



OMG, my arms (blech!). Maybe i should start those pushups this week...and tone this flabby arms, what the heck?!
Only people missing are Sandy and Natasha...and Dennis and Allison.

Can YOU dance??

Now that American Idol is done...we'll have to watch "So you think you can dance?" Ha...i think I just like watching the auditions...some of these guys/girls are hillarious!! I am not very graceful. I'm very clutsty and clumsy.

Not really much to write - except Jory has a bad cough/sore throat that sounds really croupy. I'll have to keep an eye on that. Not sure if his throat is infected or if it's a virus. UGH...i don't want my kids to be sick. :( When it rains, it pours. Dennis and Allison have strep throat...i guess these things go around.

DC wins!!!!

YES!!! Finally...my favorite contestant wins!! So many times i'd pick a favorite only to have them be the runner up or get voted off waaay too early. This entire household is freaking insanely excited that David Cook won American Idol. I cannot wait to buy his first album -- it's gonna rock!! Woot!!

I thought the finale show was totally awesome. ZZ Top, Seal, Bryan Adams and my fave....George Michael. OMG, i was nearly crying. They sang one of my all time favorite songs (Father Figure)...**he's going on tour...hope he comes this neck of the woods....i'd sell my car to go see him. HA!

I had to keep busy until American Idol started. :) Again, these are made from the Life Preserver's Scrapbook club kit from May -- the alternate selection. I love how the the BLING one turned out...

AND OMG, let me tell you i was so happy i squealed with delight! The kit is absolutely beautiful!! I have discovered that I love love love any PP with black contrasts...and OMG, this kit rocks!!





My poor little step daughter has strep throat. Daddy is also coming down with a sore throat...so looks like that household is out of commission for a couple of days. My poor little peanuts. :(

OMG - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY!

I am such a loser...i can't believe i totally forgot. :( Happy Birthday Mommy. I'm a day late and I will call you later. I love you!

Yesterday, we went for a nature trail walk again, but it was boring. We didn't see a thing...just lots of bugs and we got lost...so it was kinda nerve wracking. I made the kids smile and sit on this rock just to fake it. LOL!



And this picture is Jory stopping at the little fence to try and pick out whatever was in his sock...irritating the boogers out of him. It happened to be a bird seed stuck in his shoe. LOL.



I didn't sleep well last night, so i'm just taking it easy today...scrapping, chatting with Dennis on msn and cleaning. The kids are doing their laundry and we're gonna watch a movie with our steak dinner later. mmmmmmm.

We watched a few good movies this weekend, "The Mist", "27 Dresses", "Over her dead body", "Mad money" and "Awake". Nothing as good as "PS I love you" which we watched last weekend. It's my favorite new movie. Okay....off to go clean the shower. Bye.

Shopping Day!

We are spending the long weekend at home. We are hoping the weather is nicer tomorrow and Monday...it rained all afternoon here. We decided to take a travel to the new Giant Tiger and check out the GT boutique. The kids and I have all grown so much (haha) so we needed some basic clothing items, like shorts, T's and capris. I think last summer Jory had about a dozen pairs of shorts...but this year only one pair still fit him. SO he was happy to get 4 new pairs of shorts today. Kayla was the same way. She was really feeling like the stuff she had from last year and the year before (she's tiny) was looking too 'baby'ish...so we got her lots of black and pink stuff today. I got new shoes...wedge sandals and a couple pairs of capris and a really cute skirt. I can't beleve how much the kids have grown!
**I need a to go on a diet!

i need to get a life

...no seriously...i need to get a life.
I came home from work...hurriedly swept the main floor, threw in a load of laundry...so that i could proceed to scrap without guilt. :)

By the way i'm not too happy with the second layout...but it'll do. I think i might need to take a break from scrapping for a while...get the creative bank built back up. LOL!

I hate raking the leaves in my yard

YES, i totally hate it...my big big dirty ole stinky woody yard which is too huge for a single mother to have to rake up. There must the amount of a small city of leaves in my yard. Why raking now instead of fall, you ask? Well duh...i hate raking...i'm a procrastinator and i put it off too long!! URGH..we did 4 large bags full and only got about 1/4 of it. The mosquitoes and bees were attacking us...so we gave up for now and will finish tomorrow or next week. Please pray for me...i really want to buy me and the kids a little condo or apartment, so i don't have to worry about that stuff. Seriously...i want to move so bad. (thanks for listening to my rant).

I'm sitting here watching American Idol. David Cook's first song made me cry. It was awesome. Somebody please vote Sayeesha off already. First song was a Beyonce mimick, the second one was a Michael Buble mimick and the third one is just a screaching mimic of Rihanna. PLEASE..get her off! David Archuletta...please...singing songs much older than his experience...we all clearly know the real talent is DAVID COOK!!!! Go DC Go!!

I have some good news. Beginning in July i will be Design Team Member of LP Scrapbook Club. :) I'm stoked and oh so excited!!

I'm so sore

We went on a 3 hour hike yesterday, because it's what i wanted to do for mother's day. We had a blast - a wonderful time and i'm so grateful we were able to do that. We saw a caterpillar tent, snakes (water and land), chickadees (that fed right out of the kids' hands!), butterflies, a porcupine nest, a beaver dam, a muskrat, two deer, and a huge huge huge turtle!! Here are a few pics! **please notice the butterfly (or is that a moth?) over Kayla's head! Too cute!






This morning i was pretty sore!! So tonight i just layed it low and used up some of my two new LP kits which i was dying to dig into to!

Happy Mother's Day

Just wanted to take a minute to honour my mother, my friends and relatives who are Mom's today. We all know we'd do this job without any recognition and we often do from our day to day lives...but it's wonderful on this one special day to say, "Hey Mom, i love you and i really appreciate everything you've done for me and how well you've loved me." I am a good mother today because I had a wonderful Mother of my own. I love you mommy!! xo

I woke up this morning...grabbed my laptop and went back to bed and waited...as was instructed by my children. They surprised me with this. HA!!




I totally love pickles...and those are my own homeade waffles which i froze last week. Smart kids. They are so sweet. Hope you all have a wonderful day!!! May you be blessed.

Scrapping Fever

Ya, it had been a while since I scrapbooked, so i had the fever today. I went to Michael's with Erin and bought some fancy ribbons and foam letters and stuff...and after doing some groceries with Kayla, i sat in the dining room and did these three layouts. OMG, what a mess in here!!

Had alot of fun tonight

So we don't do this nearly enough, but we always have fun when we do. Tonight, we had a BBQ at Diane at Brenda's (Diane...you're the BBQ Queen!) and my friend Anne was there with her daughter Joanna. It was so nice to see Anne again. She lives in Colorado so once a year or so, she comes down to visit her mom and we always get together. She has the most adorable daughter. She took a liking to Jory...you can see it in her eyes here! So adorable! By the way Brenda makes awesome potato salad!! YUMMY!

The two pic of me and Anne didn't turn out the greatest...battery was dying and flash didn't go off...and omg, my double chin!! Diet and exercise starting tomorrow. Anne is of course, as beautiful as ever! (Why are we so hard on ourselves??)







Rusty has a boo boo on his neck and keeps scratching so he's wearing this cone on him...and we're so mean...i thought he looked so funny he was cute. Check these out!

New Floor

Thanks to my homegirl...Sandra L...i threw down these new peel and stick tiles over the crappy little ceramic ones I had in my full bath. I know i probably shouldn't have but it's better than what it used to be and as long as it lasts long enough for me to save enough money and bust out of this joint...it's good enough for me. LOOK how AWESOME the floor is!! MAN...it's harder to get around the toilet than i thought!! And GF, you are right...i wanna get new towels and some new flowers and a basket for in there!!!! THANK you SANDRA!!!
