Flower Pot Cards

I made these flower pot cards last Friday that I’ve been dying to show you.  I’ve been so busy i haven’t had time to post it yet, but here they are!  Aren’t they precious??  I used Stampin’ Up stamp to make these look like poinsettias'.  These will be awesome for Christmas cards for someone special.

Here is where you can find tutorials.

A little Glimmermist

I used Glimmermist for the first time tonight.  I couldn’t get over the stinky smell of the stuff.  ha!  BUT, this stuff is amazing.  I love the shimmery effect it gave my project, but I also loved the added texture it gave to my paper!  It’s awesome!  I can see myself using this more often!

Seasons of Friendship

My new Stampin’ Up Stamp came in!!  I love the SEASONS of FRIENDSHIP stamp!!  It’s extremely versatile and leaves room for creativity!

This weekend my friend Sarah and I are stampin’ and making cards.  We figured we should start our christmas cards early, so that we actually have enough to mail out.  (hehehe).  Every year, I tell myself I’m going to make cards but I never do.  I might actually do it Christmas 2009!!  :)

I made 8 of these tonight…for my Stampin’ Up card swap!
I used Stampin’ Up inks (Olive, Curry, Real Red and Chocolate Chip Brown).  I used Staz On for my sentiment and then  I embossed it.  I stamped the little birdie, versamarked it, embossed it and cut it out.  It is mounted with a pop dot.  The patterned Paper is from Mark’s Paper Company.  And of course, I LOVE LOVE LOVE that red gingham ribbon (which is from Michael’s…huge reel for $4.00!)  Are you in love with that stamp or what??  It came with a snowflake, and a little flower, so you can change it up and get really creative with it!

Using my circle punch

I was really inspired this morning when I read the Paper Crafts Magazine Blog.  Wendy Johnson published a really adorable Floral Friendship card.  I couldn’t wait to get home so I could make my own ‘flower’.

005

To make these cards I punched 9 circles with my Stampin’ Up circle punch, and using the roll of ribbon, I traced the large circle and cut it out.  I inked the edges of the smaller circles with my pink ink pad.  I adhered the circles all around the circle (on the back), and then mounted the entire flower on a piece of cardstock. **my favourite is the one mounted on the creamy coloured cardstock!  I also used my thin Black Sharpie to draw faux stitching and outlining.

The Stamp is from Imaginisce and came in our Life Preserver’s February kit last year!  **Can’t believe I hadn’t even opened it!  (shame on me!)  I used a black pencil crayon to colour in the stamp.

Adhere a little ribbon and add some raffia.  Voila!!  C’est tout finit!  ;)  Have fun trying yours!!

Cards for a Swap

I love this cute little stamp!!  I know…i should have made something different and fresh to show you, but I had to make these for my Stampin’ Up Card Swap next week.  I made 6 of them in about one hour.  I used one sheet of Piggy Tales Patterned Paper, three pieces of 8 x 11 cardstock, one sheet of creamy coloured cardstock, one stamp, beautiful ribbon from Michael’s and two little paper flowers with a little gem on them, which I got from the Dollarama.  I machine stitched around the patterned paper just to make sure that ribbon didn’t fall off!

You can’t tell by the photo but the Sentiment is actually embossed as well.

I think they are super cute, don’t you??  MUST get more stamps….and chalk….and ink…and embossing powder, and an embossing powder buddy and and and…..

You can blame my new card/stamping fixation on my friend Sarah.  She’s the one who got me hooked on Scrapbooking several years ago…she dragged me out to this SU club – and I did it for her….but now I think I’m more excited than she is.  LOL!

Just for boys

I am itching to make more of those pretty little girl cards because they were soooooo fun to decorate, but I thought I’d try my hand at making something for the boys too.  I used the template here to make these adorable coverall cards.  **please visit Deneen Tremble’s blog for more ideas.  **I found these through the Split Coast Stamper’s Gallery.

I made these for our Stampin’ Up Card Swap.  (But i want to keep them!)  hehehe.  Patterned Paper is from Cosmo Cricket – Halfway Cafe.  (and yes, there is allot of machine stitching on these…it just didn’t look the same without it).

Adorable litte dress cards

My friend Sarah and I last night got together to make cards for our Stampin’ Up card swap – she made like 9 cards like this, and I only got three done (wow, I'm slow!).  I think these are the most adorable things since babies were invented.  :)  AND these were SUPER easy and FUN to make.  I’m working on some boy’s coveralls today.  To download the dress template click here.

Allison’s been sick with a bad case of strep throat.  I’m off to bring my babies some groceries – they’ve been house bound all week.  Nurse Sandra to the rescue!!

I stamped at Stampin’ Up!

Stampin’ Up is no secret to seasoned Scrapbookers, but can you believe I’ve never been to a Stampin’ up demonstration??  That was until last night!  My friend Sarah and I joined a group – attend a home club once a month until the end of summer.  We promise to spend $40.00 a month in supplies…easy to do – their stuff is awesome!!  They have so much more stuff than just stamps!!  Last night I ordered the Stamp cleaner pad and spray, a scalloped circle punch and a scalloped border punch.  Next time, I’ll get some stamps, a stamp pad and probably some really cool stamps!  I had so much fun.  I made these two cards and this really adorable little gift box.  (which I plan to  make more of!).  We used the Designer Series Paper from the Parisian Breeze line to make the gift box.  They were delicious!!

Easter Baskets

I must admit that in the past couple of years, I haven’t really done anything for the kids for Easter.  You know…they are kind of old to get chocolate and don’t believe in the Easter Bunny so I figured what’s the point??  BUT this year, I am really feeling the Easter Goodness.  I guess it must be because this year I am VERY excited that Spring has arrived.  It was a loooooong winter – that’s for sure!

I put these together for the kids.  I can’t wait to give it to them!  006

Those cards inside are handmade – of course!  Something else I’ve never done for the kids.  Here’s a close up of them.  :)

Spring is in the air!

Today was a wonderful pyjamas day!  That’s right…i got up, ate breakfast – did a few chores; but stayed in my pyjamas all day long.  Have I ever mentioned that I love days like this?  The weather over here in Ontario has been fabulous and sunny.  Spring is definitely in the air.  Which is why…I was in the mood to go through some of my f-ugly paper packs and old spring embellishments that have been hanging on my pegboard for two years and make these fabulous, bright and cheery spring cards!  Aren’t they fabulous?  I am not a card maker.  I opt to do a layout before I make cards, but I really need to get some new photos – so what better to do than take a stab at my scraps stash!  Yay me!!

I should go off and make some dinner now for my starving children.  I am making huge homeade waffles with whipping cream, fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries.  mmmmmmmmmmm!!

**P.S.  Here’s a hint…I downloaded the NEW MSN Messenger – Windows Live Writer – It has the most amazing BLOG WRITER EDITOR…which you’ll see me trying out over the next few days.  This is just waaaay too awesome
