Just for boys

I am itching to make more of those pretty little girl cards because they were soooooo fun to decorate, but I thought I’d try my hand at making something for the boys too.  I used the template here to make these adorable coverall cards.  **please visit Deneen Tremble’s blog for more ideas.  **I found these through the Split Coast Stamper’s Gallery.

I made these for our Stampin’ Up Card Swap.  (But i want to keep them!)  hehehe.  Patterned Paper is from Cosmo Cricket – Halfway Cafe.  (and yes, there is allot of machine stitching on these…it just didn’t look the same without it).

Adorable litte dress cards

My friend Sarah and I last night got together to make cards for our Stampin’ Up card swap – she made like 9 cards like this, and I only got three done (wow, I'm slow!).  I think these are the most adorable things since babies were invented.  :)  AND these were SUPER easy and FUN to make.  I’m working on some boy’s coveralls today.  To download the dress template click here.

Allison’s been sick with a bad case of strep throat.  I’m off to bring my babies some groceries – they’ve been house bound all week.  Nurse Sandra to the rescue!!

Lots of Little Love

The May Featured Kit at Life Preservers Scrapbook Club was the Love Shack kit from Bo Bunny.  This paper is absolutely gorgeous – so pretty and PINK!!!  I love it.

Of course, LOVE SHACK reminds me of Love…and that is why I dug out this LOVE Album (also from Bo Bunny) that I had sitting on my scrap table for about 14 months.  (ugh…why do I do that?)
I had the B52’s LOVE SHACK song in my head…can you believe I was singing it the whole time I was scrappin this!?

So, to make a long story short, this was my first EVER Word Album and I think it turned out so awesome.  I’m pretty sure I’ll be giving this to a very special little girl (who I really wish I could see more often – Auntie loves you!!).  Need to get the photos printed in black and white and get that done pronto!!
A very late birthday present.  :(

All the way from Singapore!

I ordered some of those crochet flowers and they arrived today and they were as gorgeous in real life as they look in the Etsy shop.  If you ever have some free time you should check out http://www.etsy.com .  It’s an online store where you can buy all things handmade!  It’s awesome.

I’m showing you the flower here (it is set in the middle of a large flower, which I picked up at the Dollarama)…I added the leaves from my stash and some rubons around it.  I really like how it turned out.

I also forgot to show you this frame which I made for a class I was giving.  Just a little whimsical/cute frame – with Kayla and Jory!!

Baby birds

I think it is really amazing how a bird can make a nest.  The nests are so intricate and delicate, yet so strong and perfect!!  The birds carry grass, mud and twigs in their mouths and build a nest…and they have no hands!!  Pretty amazing eh?  I see something like this and it makes me pause and reflect at how Wonderful God is.  How anyone can believe there is no God is beyond me.  Every masterpiece has a Creator!!

Up at Dennis’ house we found a little tiny sparrow’s nest in the evergreen shrub right beside the front door.  You can walk right up to the shrub, and the little sparrow will not move.  I got these pics of her amazing nest…and the little eggs she has been sitting on all week.  These are GORGEOUS!

The robin’s eggs that were in the D’s back yard actually hatched this week!!  Check out these adorable little babies.  Can you believe it, they made a nest under the deck, on top of the ladder!!  Daddy is being really parental…and even bought them fresh worms.  (hehehe)

An orphaned groundhog

When Jory got home from school today he found this little guy on our walkway.  Doesn’t this little baby groundhog make you go ‘awwwwwwwwwww’!!??!

He was soooooooo tiny and lifeless, but as you can see…when he was touched he moved…so he was still alive!  I called the Humane Society and they were here within the hour to pick him up and try to save him.  Jory is very fond of him.  He wanted me to bring him in the house and feed him some milk.  Been there, done that with an orphaned kitty…ain’t doing that again.  I’ll leave this one to the professionals!!

Hope you survive little fella.

Alter it!!

A friend of mine posted an “ALTER IT” challenge.  **Alter something, alter anything!! AND it was just the inspiration I needed to alter the empty Q-Tips box that was sitting on my bathroom counter for weeks.  “KIDS don’t THROW that out…I'm going to use it!”  :)  That’s right…I altered a Q-Tips box.  It was super easy and is something that you can do yourself!!

My kids and are watching American Idol right now…what a great line up of artists tonight.  Did you see the Black Eyed Peas sing “BOOM BOOM POW”  - - gosh…what is it about that song that makes me wild with happiness?  Must finish watching.

Happy birthdays!

Happy birthday to David and Mommy!!  I hope you guys had a fabulous day.  Kayla and Jory and D wish you a happy birthday!!  We Love you!

We had a great long weekend.  I finally got the garden planted at D’s house, and we had our traditional fireworks last night.  This is always a hoot when we do it as family.  Loved it.

I finally got my car back last Friday.  I just got a tonne of work done on it, and it cost me a fortune, but it’s done!  (brakes and struts)

Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

I love this first picture.  D and Jory were out on the road setting up the fireworks and the girls were standing at the end of the driveway waiting.  It was obviously starting to get dark outside…and they were standing there looking out at the field in front of D’s house.  It was a beautiful view!

My first Publish

I got an exciting email today from Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine.  I am going to be published in their Fall Issue – ready to hit the stores September 1st.  This is really exciting for me…and it’s the first time one of my layout designs will be published in an actual ‘real paper’ LIVE magazine.   I am so excited to be able to share my love of scrapbooking.   WOOHOO!!

Wait ‘til your father gets home

Seriously, I hate Mondays.  I don’t want to return to work after being off for two days and staying in my pyjamas for an entire weekend, doing nothing but cleaning and scrapping and hanging out with my kids.  There should be a law, that once a month for an entire weekend, you cannot leave your house!!  These lawmakers should also consider converting our two day weekends to three day weekends.  Wouldn’t life be so much better??

I got a layout done for 2nd Heat at Life Preserver’s.  It was a fabulous challenge to scrap about something your mother always used to say when you were growing up.  I’m sure you’ve heard this before, “Wait ‘til your father gets home!”

Poor mom.  I think we drove you nuts sometimes.  Come to think of it, mom was a saint!!  I’m surprised she didn’t string us by our toes.  ha!  Anyways, remember mom used to warn us with that ‘catch phrase’ in the hopes that we’d be scared and settle down.  Funny thing was, dad was so gentle, loving and fun that it was rare that he raised his voice at us.  If he did, it meant we were in serious trouble.  I mean..i remember Mom telling dad we didn’t listen during the day and he always gave us a stern warning, but he never beat us or anything.  ha!  DADDY coming home was the best part of the day!  We’d take his workboots off, and sit on his feet, and he’d give us bouncy pony rides, we’d sit on his lap, rub his belly and play with his beard and moustache.  It was a part of the day I really looked forward to when I was younger.

**Mom I’m sorry we drove you nuts – seriously – i have two kids and they drive me batty alot!  LOL!

In this layout is a photo of my Dad holding me on his lap when I was a young baby.  No doubt…he’d just gotten home from work and I was getting my ‘before dinner’ snuggles.  :)

I will not have my car for the next couple of days.  It’s getting some major repairs done to it.   New struts and plates all around, and a brake job.  UGH!!  God is good though….I found someone to do it for half of the cost (instead of it being $2000.00 – it’s only going to cost me $1000.00.  **Ya, a thousand G’s I don’t have in the first place.  :(

Happy Mother’s Day Mommy…you rock!!  I love you so very much.  :)  And happy Mother’s day to you Stella!!  xoxo

For something really fun, check out this link:  I’m FAMOUS!!  (this is so cool!)

Every day is Mother’s Day when you’re a mom.  Wouldn’t you agree??  I never get a day off…and even if you do get the chance to be away from your kids for a short time, you never stop worrying or thinking about them – so I pretty much think that once you are a mother, your life changes forever.  :)  Good changes – I feel so blessed to be a mom.  My kids are the greatest gift God has ever given me.

Aren’t they awesome??  Look at those faces!

001

This morning they serenaded me on Facebook with gifts (hey, I’m a trendy mom…it’s what I wanted!), made me coffee and an egg sandwich and then…they left me alone and let me scrap!!  It was a perfect day.

I’ve really enjoyed making these boxes lately.  I made another one.  HA!  I meant to move that ‘deer’ tag before i took the pic, it’s right over the title on the tag.  Bummer.  001

002

I also made this layout of my Kayla!!  She rocks.  :)

003

Well, the kids and I are going to watch YES MAN (Jim Carey)…last night we watched BEDTIME STORIES (Adam Sandler).  What a great movie.
Talk to you all soon.  P.S.  Thanks Stephanie for setting me straight on that photo.  I thought it was my dad sitting on Pepere’s lap…it was actually Stella.  I’ll have to change the tags on my layout.  ha!!

Also…i put the comments back to ‘OPEN’ so please feel free to comment on any of my posts.  Remember this is set to private, so the only ones who will see them are YOU GUYS.  :)

Love you guys.  xo

Scrappy Mom to the Rescue!

What do you do when you don’t have cash on hand, and don’t feel like going shopping but you need a present pronto??  Why, you scrap one of course!!

I made this album tonight (took me less than 3 hours), for my daughter’s friend, who is celebrating a birthday tomorrow.  She needed a present to bring with her…and I didn’t want her to go to the party empty handed!!

I received a paper pack of Rockstar paper from Kristin a couple of weeks ago and they worked perfectly with this little album from Maya Road.  I also used rubons from Cosmo Cricket, which were left over from an older LP kit.  I think this turned out pretty and fab!!  What you think?
