Kayla’s Graduation Mass

No big secret that I sent my kids to a Catholic School.  I really enjoyed going to Catholic Schools when I was growing.  I wanted my children to grow up ‘in the world’ so they could know of it, but still be free to learn and share about God.  The Catholic School has done my kids good!  I am so proud of them – and who they’ve grown up to be.  They have strong principles, moral convictions and a large amount of empathy.  I am soooo proud of them.  Today was no exception.

My Baby girl is 17, and graduating Grade 12 this year.  Today was the Graduation Mass.  It was really special – the priest (who was just a young priest) was motivational and quite inspirational with his message to the grads.  “Make God a priority in your life”.  It truly was a special mass.

Syd and Claudia came with me to attend, and we had the opportunity to see Kayla in her Sunday best and to see her with all her friends.  The actual graduation ceremony will be June 23rd, but today was just a pre-cursor.  My gorgeous baby girl.

Sunshine/Sonshine

“Anyone's life truly lived consists of work, sunshine, exercise, soap, plenty of fresh air, and a happy contented spirit.”

I don’t know what the weather is like over there, but here it is gorgeous out!  The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the squirrels are busy busy busy!  I woke up this morning and thought to myself, “Self…enjoy the day!”

So…after doing a bit of laundry and filling up my belly with breakfast and tea, i sat at the table – threw on some music and whipped up this layout.

Last June my little big boy graduated Elementary School and got all dressed up in a shirt and tie.   First off, let me tell you about Jory.

He’s brilliant, funny, charming, quirky, subtle, sarcastic, kind, genuine, thoughtful, caring and pesky.  He’s the kind of kid who when he reads something funny he’s got to run down to show me.  He worries when I spend too much money, and therefore he rarely asks me for things.  He reminds me a lot of myself – but I do love him with my entire life and I am so proud to call him my boy.  Rain or Shine, he’s the perfect son.

I HEART you Jory Boy.
Love Mom.  XO

Flip flop for this flip flop album!

I apologize for the lack in blogging lately – been sooooooooooo busy!  Today is our country’s birthday!!  I’m celebrating by sending Kayla and Jory to spend it with their grandparents downtown, while I rest, clean and scrapbook.  Ahhhhhhh…that’s rite.  It’s been a very stressful and crazy couple of weeks – work is so busy and I’m getting ready to go away to the cottage for a week, beginning next Saturday!  So…we’ve been cleaning and doing laundry.  The laundry never seems to end does it??

Using the June Featured kit from Life Preserver’s Scrapbook Club, I made this adorable little Flip Flop Album.  The flip flops were from the Dollarama and some of the foam embellies were from my stash but most of this came from Cosmo Cricket’s Snorkel Line (and of course Bazzil Cardstock).  I’m showing you a few pages that I got completed so far, although I will need to get some more photos printed before I complete it (don’t you hate it when you run out of ink in your printer when you are trying to work on a special project?  Grrrr.

So much happened since i last blogged.

Jory graduated.  My little baby is no longer in grade school.  We had a fun day and he looked so handsome.  I know you saw the pictures on Facebook, but here are a few of my favorite from that day.

I also got some great photos of Kayla.  She’s looking more and more adorablely beautiful these days.  She’s gonna be 17 at the end of Summer…and I think I'll start keeping a baseball bat at the front door.

The Weekend is here

It's been a crazy week at work. So busy, and the fact that I didn't sleep well for the most of the past two weeks has taken it's toll on me. I slept till 11:00 am this morning, only waking at 6:20 am to go to the washroom. It feels nice. I feel refreshed. Sitting here drinking a cup of tea. Ahhhhhhh!

Last night we spent the evening with Rob and Sarah and the boys. Liam had a soccer game, so we went to that. That little guy can play! Go LIAM!. :-) Was so beautiful out, it felt like old times sitting out on the patio, drinking coolers and chatting. It was so nice.

Sarah, I'm posting this video I made of Kayla's Graduation, thought maybe you would like to show your mom. :-) You'll like it...it's touching.
