Sunshine/Sonshine

“Anyone's life truly lived consists of work, sunshine, exercise, soap, plenty of fresh air, and a happy contented spirit.”

I don’t know what the weather is like over there, but here it is gorgeous out!  The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the squirrels are busy busy busy!  I woke up this morning and thought to myself, “Self…enjoy the day!”

So…after doing a bit of laundry and filling up my belly with breakfast and tea, i sat at the table – threw on some music and whipped up this layout.

Last June my little big boy graduated Elementary School and got all dressed up in a shirt and tie.   First off, let me tell you about Jory.

He’s brilliant, funny, charming, quirky, subtle, sarcastic, kind, genuine, thoughtful, caring and pesky.  He’s the kind of kid who when he reads something funny he’s got to run down to show me.  He worries when I spend too much money, and therefore he rarely asks me for things.  He reminds me a lot of myself – but I do love him with my entire life and I am so proud to call him my boy.  Rain or Shine, he’s the perfect son.

I HEART you Jory Boy.
Love Mom.  XO

Wait ‘til your father gets home

Seriously, I hate Mondays.  I don’t want to return to work after being off for two days and staying in my pyjamas for an entire weekend, doing nothing but cleaning and scrapping and hanging out with my kids.  There should be a law, that once a month for an entire weekend, you cannot leave your house!!  These lawmakers should also consider converting our two day weekends to three day weekends.  Wouldn’t life be so much better??

I got a layout done for 2nd Heat at Life Preserver’s.  It was a fabulous challenge to scrap about something your mother always used to say when you were growing up.  I’m sure you’ve heard this before, “Wait ‘til your father gets home!”

Poor mom.  I think we drove you nuts sometimes.  Come to think of it, mom was a saint!!  I’m surprised she didn’t string us by our toes.  ha!  Anyways, remember mom used to warn us with that ‘catch phrase’ in the hopes that we’d be scared and settle down.  Funny thing was, dad was so gentle, loving and fun that it was rare that he raised his voice at us.  If he did, it meant we were in serious trouble.  I mean..i remember Mom telling dad we didn’t listen during the day and he always gave us a stern warning, but he never beat us or anything.  ha!  DADDY coming home was the best part of the day!  We’d take his workboots off, and sit on his feet, and he’d give us bouncy pony rides, we’d sit on his lap, rub his belly and play with his beard and moustache.  It was a part of the day I really looked forward to when I was younger.

**Mom I’m sorry we drove you nuts – seriously – i have two kids and they drive me batty alot!  LOL!

In this layout is a photo of my Dad holding me on his lap when I was a young baby.  No doubt…he’d just gotten home from work and I was getting my ‘before dinner’ snuggles.  :)

I will not have my car for the next couple of days.  It’s getting some major repairs done to it.   New struts and plates all around, and a brake job.  UGH!!  God is good though….I found someone to do it for half of the cost (instead of it being $2000.00 – it’s only going to cost me $1000.00.  **Ya, a thousand G’s I don’t have in the first place.  :(

Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day Mommy…you rock!!  I love you so very much.  :)  And happy Mother’s day to you Stella!!  xoxo

For something really fun, check out this link:  I’m FAMOUS!!  (this is so cool!)

Every day is Mother’s Day when you’re a mom.  Wouldn’t you agree??  I never get a day off…and even if you do get the chance to be away from your kids for a short time, you never stop worrying or thinking about them – so I pretty much think that once you are a mother, your life changes forever.  :)  Good changes – I feel so blessed to be a mom.  My kids are the greatest gift God has ever given me.

Aren’t they awesome??  Look at those faces!

001

This morning they serenaded me on Facebook with gifts (hey, I’m a trendy mom…it’s what I wanted!), made me coffee and an egg sandwich and then…they left me alone and let me scrap!!  It was a perfect day.

I’ve really enjoyed making these boxes lately.  I made another one.  HA!  I meant to move that ‘deer’ tag before i took the pic, it’s right over the title on the tag.  Bummer.  001

002

I also made this layout of my Kayla!!  She rocks.  :)

003

Well, the kids and I are going to watch YES MAN (Jim Carey)…last night we watched BEDTIME STORIES (Adam Sandler).  What a great movie.
Talk to you all soon.  P.S.  Thanks Stephanie for setting me straight on that photo.  I thought it was my dad sitting on Pepere’s lap…it was actually Stella.  I’ll have to change the tags on my layout.  ha!!

Also…i put the comments back to ‘OPEN’ so please feel free to comment on any of my posts.  Remember this is set to private, so the only ones who will see them are YOU GUYS.  :)

Love you guys.  xo

Jory’s speech went well

Thought I’d update you all on how Jory’s speech went on Monday.  He wasn’t nervous (so thanks for your prayers)!  He delivered a good speech, but unfortunately, did not win the contest.  The opportunity was amazing though and I am so proud of him!
Here is his merit certificate.  Dennis was really impressed when Jory practiced on Sunday.

006
Kayla worked on her Photography project all weekend, and evening.  I took a picture in case she doesn’t get it back.  My kids’ teachers often keep their projects to show as examples for the following year.

I did some scrapping as usual.  The first one was an entry for a contest and the other one was just because.  I got that gorgeous paper from a lady that I was on the Design Team with, as a gift.  It’s pretty cool, how she handpicked these for me and they match my taste just perfectly.

002

And used up some scraps to make these cards.  It’s been a good scrappy week!

002

AND by the way….big American Idol fan here….I absolutely loved Adam and Allison tonight.   Normally I also really like, Danny Gokey but his song was not working for me at all!!

Happy Scrapbooking Day!

Today is National Scrapbooking Day.  I worked on these two projects for the scrapping club – in honour of that!!  I gave this box to Diane!  Isn’t it pretty?

A friend of mine sent me a bunch of this awesome paper.  I was so excited, because I remembered I had this photo I wanted to scrap.  Now, I don’t know what year this was taken or hold old Dad was here…but I do think that this is Dad sitting on Pepere’s lap??  I’ve started working on a heritage album.  I LOVE this layout.  I love the photo!  Stella, I’ll have to grab some of those pictures you scanned for the DVD…so i can get them all printed!  I’ll be busy the next little while.  hehehe.
001

Well, I hope you are all having a great weekend!!  The kids and I are at Dennis’ house.  This weekend I am filling the garden with manure and washing my car again.  It doesn’t take long before it gets dirty!  Jory is doing his speech in front of the entire school on Monday.  I hope he does well.  I never did post it, because he didn’t save it on this PC and I couldn’t copy and paste.  One of these nights, I’d like to type it out for you all.  It was really good!!
Love you all….  xoxo

Administrative professionals Day!

Today is Administrative Professional’s Day.  So happy APD to me!  There are times at the office where I feel like this:

Actually…I feel like that EVERY DAY!  :)

Today is also earth day.  We are watching American Idol in the dark tonight.  ha!  (nothing makes us miss this show!)

I thought I’d share this one last layout I did.

003

I also decorated these candles!  Cute huh?

002
Okay…off to finish watching American idol!  So far Lil is gone – thank goodness.  I do not like her!

TGIF

It’s been a loooooooong week!!  I had to work overtime – you know the kind of work you DON’T like (at the office!).  That is why I was so excited to let my hair down, relax and unwind creating these projects.      Ain’t it scrumptious?!  Brenda…I can soooooooo see that box in your bedroom.  ha!

011

Here’s some close up pics of the box I made.  The bottom is made from Cardstock and the top you use patterned paper.  I went nuts with floral pieces I purchased from the Dollarama.  YES!!!  I love to shop for scrap supplies there!!

004 002

003

Here’s another BLING layout I did.  I admit that most of the embellishments were not from the kit, but that flocked paper and cardstock are (so that counts right?)  :)  Inside that adorable little envelope is hidden journalling.  *Kind of like a prayer to God.

006

This next layout is of the HERITAGE Post Office building downtown Ottawa.  I love this building…the architecture is amazing!!  We live in one heck of a gorgeous city!

010

This is a photo of  Dad when he was a little boy.  I’m guessing he would have been about 7 years old??  Anyways, I found this gem from when we did the Christmas DVD for Mom and Dad.  I’m really loving older photos lately!!  I can’t wait to scrap some more after I get my hands on some.  :)  Ain’t he cute??  When i was scrapping this I couldn’t help but think my kids look so much like him!!

008
AND this last layout is one of my  Dad also.  He was a teenager here…working in some type of store.  I believe he would have been about 15!  Here he looks like my brother David!

005
Well folks, thanks so much for looking!!  I really enjoyed making these and I couldn’t wait to share them with you.  Have a great weekend – I’ll be back on Monday!!  I am thinking I might post Jory’s speech on PHOBIA’s on Monday…stay tuned!!  It was really well written.  :)

My son can cook!

What a gorgeous week we’ve had so far.  The weather has been awesome.  Tonight’s post will be very quick.  I’m totally exhausted from working a 12 hour shift today at the office.  Month end is always a nightmare, with deadlines and people waiting for financial reports and bills…and it drives me nuts!  So, i came home to eat the tacos which Jory had cooked for dinner (Yummy!) and then quickly did this layout which I made for my Weekly challenge for the scrapbook club I design for.  Then I sat on couch and crashed and burnt.  HA…going to bed in a few mins.  I hate it when you just get home and got to go to bed!  GRRR.

This was Kayla and A with Chris Greenwood from Manafest, when they went to the concert last year.  They loved that concert!!

And this picture is of Jory.  My sweet boy who made me dinner tonight.  I love that they are growing up and can!  ;)  nite all!

Spring is in the air!

It’s been too long since I updated my blog.  I apologize for that – but I was really busy last week and this weekend scrapping with my friends.  It’s alot of work organizing an online crop for a scrapbook club.  Well worth it though.

So, the kids are doing well!  Jory got his report card the other day and his average is 87%.  I’m so proud of him!  He’s one of those effortless students that never studies and gets good grades.  I bet if he studied, he’d get straight A’s.  Like his mom!!  ;)  I always enjoy the teachers comments:  “Jory is a an excellent student and should pursue leadership within the classroom.  He is a good role model and extremely pleasant.”  That’s my boy!!

Kayla got the same thing on hers…and she was so proud to get her first 95% in Math.  She loves this semester – and is enjoying all of her classes!

I took these pictures of Jory this weekend, while we went on a nice spring walk around the block.  The weather was gorgeous.  I love these pics – different huh?

005 003 004
Here’s another cool pic that I got of Kayla.  This is her hard at work at school.  :)

002

I’ll have some pics to show you of Jory’s pinky toe.  Last night he kicked the dining room table and I think he broke it.  He slammed the entire top of his foot on the underside of the dining room table.  I’ll take pics when it’s really nasty looking, because I want to scrap it – the story behind it…but i need good pictures first.  ha!

We got the cottage booked for our holiday this summer.  I cannot wait!!  It looks totally amazing!!  I don’t think I showed you pictures eh??  Take a look at this?!  The RED COTTAGE!

For now…i wish you all a lovely evening, and hope that you enjoy  all the layouts I’m going to post for you now.  Love you all.  xo
