Maddie goes to the Park

I know we all love this warm weather.  It’s 25 degrees Celsius out.  today is the last day of winter and it’s 25 degrees outside.  Strange enough, we went for a walk this evening – we were wearing flip flops and walking in small patches of snow.  Something weird about that.  I shall not complain too much because it’s such a nice treat after spending all winter indoors – but is that what they call ‘global warming’?  I hope this doesn’t wreak havoc on the plant and stuff.

So, because it was so nice out we went for a walk this afternoon after I got home from work and stopped at the park with Maddie.

She loved to see the kids at the park and wasn’t too sure about the sand on her hands (she don’t like to get dirty), but she loved walking around the park and running wherever her little feet would take her.

*remember that if you want to see the bigger enlarged, click it ---then hit the back button on your browser to return here.

i don't think i've walked outside before! catch me if you can!omg it's hot...i need a hat! oops i fell!
She went on the slide…she seemed to like it.  On the way up the stairs she met a little boy a little bigger than her and she was really friendly with him.  She squealed and touched his shoes…the little boy was wondering what was happening.  LOL!

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee omg, this is fun!

hahaha...hey where are the kids?Yay!

oooooooooooo shoes..i love to play with the velcromore!

As I type this, Maddie is crying – apparently because she wants Mommy to open the front door – so she can look outside.  Forget that, Brenda had to take her outside…she started to throw a fit. HA!!  Reminds me of when Kayla and Jory were really little and would cry to go outside before they’d even eaten breakfast.

Bring on summer!!

Sunshine/Sonshine

“Anyone's life truly lived consists of work, sunshine, exercise, soap, plenty of fresh air, and a happy contented spirit.”

I don’t know what the weather is like over there, but here it is gorgeous out!  The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the squirrels are busy busy busy!  I woke up this morning and thought to myself, “Self…enjoy the day!”

So…after doing a bit of laundry and filling up my belly with breakfast and tea, i sat at the table – threw on some music and whipped up this layout.

Last June my little big boy graduated Elementary School and got all dressed up in a shirt and tie.   First off, let me tell you about Jory.

He’s brilliant, funny, charming, quirky, subtle, sarcastic, kind, genuine, thoughtful, caring and pesky.  He’s the kind of kid who when he reads something funny he’s got to run down to show me.  He worries when I spend too much money, and therefore he rarely asks me for things.  He reminds me a lot of myself – but I do love him with my entire life and I am so proud to call him my boy.  Rain or Shine, he’s the perfect son.

I HEART you Jory Boy.
Love Mom.  XO

We got baby sparrows!

They hatched – they finally hatched!!  The little wee baby sparrows are alive and well.  Here they are, waiting for mama to bring them their dinner.

Isn’t that precious??  They grow so fast.  I’ll bet by the time I go back next weekend, they will have flown the nest.  The robins that were in the back yard, have already flown away and started a new life of their own.  :(  Imagine if our kids grew up that fast ??  ha!

Thought I'd also share these pics of the mini roses I planted in my garden this weekend.

I’m really happy with how well it’s all growing so far.  Every seed has taken and the colours have remained vibrant.  It’s probably because the last four weeks, I think we’ve only had 3 sunny days…lots of rain!!

The cottage that we had a deposit on (the one in Carleton Place)…well … the lady called me on Friday and it’s a no go!  :(  I was so bummed.   The sale of the cottage fell through and they won’t be honouring the bookings.  So…D, booked the same one we had last year.  We’ll be vacationing in Eganville again.  BUT that’s okay because we had a lot of fun there!!

Baby birds

I think it is really amazing how a bird can make a nest.  The nests are so intricate and delicate, yet so strong and perfect!!  The birds carry grass, mud and twigs in their mouths and build a nest…and they have no hands!!  Pretty amazing eh?  I see something like this and it makes me pause and reflect at how Wonderful God is.  How anyone can believe there is no God is beyond me.  Every masterpiece has a Creator!!

Up at Dennis’ house we found a little tiny sparrow’s nest in the evergreen shrub right beside the front door.  You can walk right up to the shrub, and the little sparrow will not move.  I got these pics of her amazing nest…and the little eggs she has been sitting on all week.  These are GORGEOUS!

The robin’s eggs that were in the D’s back yard actually hatched this week!!  Check out these adorable little babies.  Can you believe it, they made a nest under the deck, on top of the ladder!!  Daddy is being really parental…and even bought them fresh worms.  (hehehe)

An orphaned groundhog

When Jory got home from school today he found this little guy on our walkway.  Doesn’t this little baby groundhog make you go ‘awwwwwwwwwww’!!??!

He was soooooooo tiny and lifeless, but as you can see…when he was touched he moved…so he was still alive!  I called the Humane Society and they were here within the hour to pick him up and try to save him.  Jory is very fond of him.  He wanted me to bring him in the house and feed him some milk.  Been there, done that with an orphaned kitty…ain’t doing that again.  I’ll leave this one to the professionals!!

Hope you survive little fella.

Happy Easter!

I am so Grateful that God sent his Son to die for me that many years ago and that today I am still saved by his blood, and his amazing Grace.  Thank you God, for Jesus and your never failing love.

This afternoon the kids and I decided to go for our annual walk at Stony Swamp.  We love to visit this place, because the chickadees fly really close and feed right out of your hands – if  you stand still enough.  The kids say it’s an adrenaline rush when you feel their little feet and wings fluttering.  This was one time I really wished I’d had had a better camera.

We also watched the squirrels and chipmunks eat seeds and nuts that others had left for them.

We got some really cool pics of nature at it’s best.  I don’t know about you, but I find nature very artistic!!  AND just plain freakin’ cool!!  Check out these pics!

AND what would a beautiful walk on a beautiful Sunny Good Friday afternoon be, without some portrait shots??  Don’t laugh at my attire.  I was dressed for comfort!!

AND I love these ‘journey’ pics I took of the kids.  I always love the perspective.  It was a beautiful day!  Happy Easter Everyone!!  Hope your weekend is blessed as am I.

Spring is in the air!

It’s been too long since I updated my blog.  I apologize for that – but I was really busy last week and this weekend scrapping with my friends.  It’s alot of work organizing an online crop for a scrapbook club.  Well worth it though.

So, the kids are doing well!  Jory got his report card the other day and his average is 87%.  I’m so proud of him!  He’s one of those effortless students that never studies and gets good grades.  I bet if he studied, he’d get straight A’s.  Like his mom!!  ;)  I always enjoy the teachers comments:  “Jory is a an excellent student and should pursue leadership within the classroom.  He is a good role model and extremely pleasant.”  That’s my boy!!

Kayla got the same thing on hers…and she was so proud to get her first 95% in Math.  She loves this semester – and is enjoying all of her classes!

I took these pictures of Jory this weekend, while we went on a nice spring walk around the block.  The weather was gorgeous.  I love these pics – different huh?

Here’s another cool pic that I got of Kayla.  This is her hard at work at school.  :)

I’ll have some pics to show you of Jory’s pinky toe.  Last night he kicked the dining room table and I think he broke it.  He slammed the entire top of his foot on the underside of the dining room table.  I’ll take pics when it’s really nasty looking, because I want to scrap it – the story behind it…but i need good pictures first.  ha!

We got the cottage booked for our holiday this summer.  I cannot wait!!  It looks totally amazing!!  I don’t think I showed you pictures eh??  Take a look at this?!  The RED COTTAGE!
