Administrative professionals Day!

Today is Administrative Professional’s Day.  So happy APD to me!  There are times at the office where I feel like this:

Actually…I feel like that EVERY DAY!  :)

Today is also earth day.  We are watching American Idol in the dark tonight.  ha!  (nothing makes us miss this show!)

I thought I’d share this one last layout I did.

I also decorated these candles!  Cute huh?

Okay…off to finish watching American idol!  So far Lil is gone – thank goodness.  I do not like her!

Funny story and a great weekend

We had the most amazing weekend.  I love family weekends at D’s house.  Saturday, we had a barbeque and had the most gigantic hamburgers I’ve ever had!!  They are called Gigantico from President’s Choice…HOLY cow those things are fricken’ huge!!  D and I ate so much, we ended up having a 2 hour nap after dinner.  ha!!

So, today it was absolutely gorgeous outside!!  We took advantage of the sunshine and cleared up the garden and planted some summer bulbs.  THEN the kids washed the cars – Jory vacuumed mine and then he and A cleaned the inside.  Later, all the kids washed it down on the outside.  It was really neat because D let Jory move the car up and down the driveway.  That was Jory’s first  time riding the car!  He looked so excited!

I decided to treat the kids for their hard work, and took them to the Dairy Queen.  I got one of those big waffle cone sundaes!!  MMMMMMMMMMM.

We were having such a great day, we didn’t want it to end.  So, the kids decided to take a walk in the bush behind D’s house.  We equipped them with a cell phone, a camera and a challenge.  The Challenge was to walk to the other side and take a picture of the field.  About a half hour later, we get a phone call from JORY who is frantic.

“OMG, we didn’t make it to the field, we’re coming  home cuz we found a deer leg and fur….and we’re scared to the death there is a bear in here!!”

So…within minutes they were back at the house, reliving the whole event and all that they had seen.  They convinced us to take a walk back in there – and we got a little lost.  HA…we were gone for two hours.  I’m so beat right now from the sun…and all the exercise.  I actually think I have a little sunburn!!

Anyways…here’s a few pics that the kids took to chronicle their event!  I’m raising scrapbookers you know!!  LOL!

It was kinda like a scene out of CSI!  LOL .
I forgot to tell you…Jory got a 91% on his speech.  He may be selected to do the school finals!!  I’ll try and post his speech tomorrow.  Love you’s all!  xo

TGIF

It’s been a loooooooong week!!  I had to work overtime – you know the kind of work you DON’T like (at the office!).  That is why I was so excited to let my hair down, relax and unwind creating these projects.      Ain’t it scrumptious?!  Brenda…I can soooooooo see that box in your bedroom.  ha!

011

Here’s some close up pics of the box I made.  The bottom is made from Cardstock and the top you use patterned paper.  I went nuts with floral pieces I purchased from the Dollarama.  YES!!!  I love to shop for scrap supplies there!!

004 002

003

Here’s another BLING layout I did.  I admit that most of the embellishments were not from the kit, but that flocked paper and cardstock are (so that counts right?)  :)  Inside that adorable little envelope is hidden journalling.  *Kind of like a prayer to God.

006

This next layout is of the HERITAGE Post Office building downtown Ottawa.  I love this building…the architecture is amazing!!  We live in one heck of a gorgeous city!

010

This is a photo of  Dad when he was a little boy.  I’m guessing he would have been about 7 years old??  Anyways, I found this gem from when we did the Christmas DVD for Mom and Dad.  I’m really loving older photos lately!!  I can’t wait to scrap some more after I get my hands on some.  :)  Ain’t he cute??  When i was scrapping this I couldn’t help but think my kids look so much like him!!

008
AND this last layout is one of my  Dad also.  He was a teenager here…working in some type of store.  I believe he would have been about 15!  Here he looks like my brother David!

005
Well folks, thanks so much for looking!!  I really enjoyed making these and I couldn’t wait to share them with you.  Have a great weekend – I’ll be back on Monday!!  I am thinking I might post Jory’s speech on PHOBIA’s on Monday…stay tuned!!  It was really well written.  :)

My son can cook!

What a gorgeous week we’ve had so far.  The weather has been awesome.  Tonight’s post will be very quick.  I’m totally exhausted from working a 12 hour shift today at the office.  Month end is always a nightmare, with deadlines and people waiting for financial reports and bills…and it drives me nuts!  So, i came home to eat the tacos which Jory had cooked for dinner (Yummy!) and then quickly did this layout which I made for my Weekly challenge for the scrapbook club I design for.  Then I sat on couch and crashed and burnt.  HA…going to bed in a few mins.  I hate it when you just get home and got to go to bed!  GRRR.

This was Kayla and A with Chris Greenwood from Manafest, when they went to the concert last year.  They loved that concert!!

And this picture is of Jory.  My sweet boy who made me dinner tonight.  I love that they are growing up and can!  ;)  nite all!

I stamped at Stampin’ Up!

Stampin’ Up is no secret to seasoned Scrapbookers, but can you believe I’ve never been to a Stampin’ up demonstration??  That was until last night!  My friend Sarah and I joined a group – attend a home club once a month until the end of summer.  We promise to spend $40.00 a month in supplies…easy to do – their stuff is awesome!!  They have so much more stuff than just stamps!!  Last night I ordered the Stamp cleaner pad and spray, a scalloped circle punch and a scalloped border punch.  Next time, I’ll get some stamps, a stamp pad and probably some really cool stamps!  I had so much fun.  I made these two cards and this really adorable little gift box.  (which I plan to  make more of!).  We used the Designer Series Paper from the Parisian Breeze line to make the gift box.  They were delicious!!

It’s Easter a day early at our house

HAPPY EASTER!!!  This morning we had our egg hunt (that’s right…you are NEVER too old to have an egg hunt.)  At least that’s what my kids tell me.  They begged me to do one this year, because I haven’t in so long.  (they are teenagers!).  It was fun watching them nearly knock eachother over to find the them.  Ha!!  I also haven’t done Easter Baskets for them in a while.  I’d usually just buy them a video game and a one pound bunny – but every year they get so much – that I thought I’d get them a basket full of special treats!!  Don’t tell them I posted these pics…they still have their sleepy heads on.  LOL!

002004  003 Here are a few of the really cool little things I found for them!  They were thrilled.  :)

Happy Easter!

I am so Grateful that God sent his Son to die for me that many years ago and that today I am still saved by his blood, and his amazing Grace.  Thank you God, for Jesus and your never failing love.

This afternoon the kids and I decided to go for our annual walk at Stony Swamp.  We love to visit this place, because the chickadees fly really close and feed right out of your hands – if  you stand still enough.  The kids say it’s an adrenaline rush when you feel their little feet and wings fluttering.  This was one time I really wished I’d had had a better camera.

We also watched the squirrels and chipmunks eat seeds and nuts that others had left for them.

017 016

We got some really cool pics of nature at it’s best.  I don’t know about you, but I find nature very artistic!!  AND just plain freakin’ cool!!  Check out these pics!

AND what would a beautiful walk on a beautiful Sunny Good Friday afternoon be, without some portrait shots??  Don’t laugh at my attire.  I was dressed for comfort!!

AND I love these ‘journey’ pics I took of the kids.  I always love the perspective.  It was a beautiful day!  Happy Easter Everyone!!  Hope your weekend is blessed as am I.

We are Family

004
I’ve been loving all the cardboard used in scrapbooking projects as of late.  I’ve been wanting to make one of these forever!

007

My crazy son wanted to give perspective of it’s size by standing next to it.  *It’s hanging on our living room wall because I love this so much!!!   Isn’t it ironic…I made it using the leftover pizza box from the pizza we devoured for dinner.  ha!

008

This is us…the three of us. WE ARE FAMILY!!!  AND guess what???  This family loves American IDOL and our favorites for this week are ADAM and ALLISON!!  Listening to Allison makes me cry.  Her voice is insane!!!  Who is your favorite??

Easter Baskets

I must admit that in the past couple of years, I haven’t really done anything for the kids for Easter.  You know…they are kind of old to get chocolate and don’t believe in the Easter Bunny so I figured what’s the point??  BUT this year, I am really feeling the Easter Goodness.  I guess it must be because this year I am VERY excited that Spring has arrived.  It was a loooooong winter – that’s for sure!

I put these together for the kids.  I can’t wait to give it to them!  006

008

Those cards inside are handmade – of course!  Something else I’ve never done for the kids.  Here’s a close up of them.  :)

And here’s a couple of extra cards I made.  Enjoy your Monday!
