Birthday Weekend!!!

We had such a busy (but fun!) weekend. Friday nite we went to Diane's to help her celebrate her 30th birthday. WOW..can i say that the patio looks amazing??!! It's awesome! Makes me wanna clean up my yard, get a new bbq and a gazebo and spend more time outdoors! WOW...love it!

After that, we rushed home, cleaned up and packed up for Dennis' house. It was his 42nd birthday also on the 22nd!

Then we had fireworks at night! Dennis loves to set off fireworks when all the kids are there and they love it!! Jory was his helper - and then we gave the kids each a little tiny firecracker to let off...they loved it. (NO worries...they wore thick gloves and pointed it away from their faces.) LOL!

Sunday, i weeded and cared for my garden. :-) It's starting to get so thick and green and colourful. It's amazing how much that Miracle Gro really helps them grow. There is this amazing pic of a gazillion ants climbing up my marigold. I wonder if they are the little buggers who have eaten all my pansies?

Jory's Grad

I am so proud!! Jory's Graduation ceremony was awesome.
Apart from being valedictorian my baby boy also received two awards:

1. Christianity Award
2. Most improved student in French.

Mom and Dad, you would have been so proud!! You all would!! I was beaming from ear to ear. :-) After the graduation we partied at Lone Star Restaurant with Jory's Friends and their parents. They boys were having so much fun.

Today - June 19th

Tomorrow is Jory's grad. He was practicing his speech tonight...in his room. I'm just ironing his shirt and hemming his pants now. He's gonna look so handsome. Kayla is studying like a crazy woman for her two exams tomorrow. Her last one is on Friday and then she's done school for summer. She's quite happy. :-)

Tonight after work i bought myself a new dress. It's soooooo cute. I can't wait to wear it. I hope it's nice out tomorrow -- maybe i'll wear it to Jory's grad. :-)

Erin is moving in this weekend. HOLY COW! It's gonna be nice having someone here but i'm gonna have to adjust. I haven't had a roomie in a very long time.

I'm gonna be on holidays July 9 - 13th. I can't wait...just me and the kids and Luce. WOOHOO! I'll take another week in August...just not sure yet which one...to spend together with the kids and Dennis.

Okay....so i guess i better go and hem Jory's pants now. Here is a pic of my feet in the lush grass at D's house. I'll post grad pics tomorrow night. There'll be a whole tonne of them. LOL!

I thought I was finished

I thought I was finished the scrapbook for Dennis, but as I started to put the whole thing together last night, i realized it wasn't big enough. LOL!. SO i did a few more layouts and started to decorate the rings.

The Challenge

Okay this was the challenge - It all ADS up. Pick up an ad that inspires and create a layout with it.

Ha...i just noticed this ad i picked, just happened to be for K-Y Jelly....LOL. Anyways, the colours and the texture in the photo hanging over the bed, inspired me to create the following layout. :-)

My first attempt at stamping something half decent. LOVE how this turned out!

Happy Father's Day Daddy

My Hero

As I ponder the strength that I saw in your eyes,
A Godly love, given without compromise...
I recall many times that you stood by my side,
And prodded me on with great vigor and pride.
Your voice ever confident, firm and yet fair,
Always speaking with patience, tenderness and care.
The power and might of your hands was so sure,
I knew there was nothing we couldn't endure.
It's true, a few others provided insight,
Yet, you laid the foundation that kept me upright.
You're the grandest of men to have lived on this earth,
Although You're not royal by stature or birth.
You're a man of great dignity, honor and strength.
Your merits are noble, and of admirable length.
You're far greater than all other men that I know,
You're my Dad, You're my mentor, my friend and hero.

I love you Daddy.

Kids want to wish you a wonderful Father's Day - to the best Pepere in the entire world. Love you loads. xoxo

Another album i made.

This one i made for Father's Day for Steve (from the kids). Better than burning these photos i guess. He certainly won't appreciate how much work went into it, but at least the kids will have something to give him. It was also his birthday last week.

Sandra L, you had asked me how i got the holes drilled in the CD album. Darling, i had my darling Dennis drill those holes for me with his drill. :-) I'm sure you probably have your own drill - LOL! I just suggest you put the hole as close to the edge as possible without compromising the strength...Dennis drilled a bit too far in and the pages stick together a little. It's okay though.

I used ModPodge to adher the patterned paper. I also coated each sheet with ModPodge after adhering. I modPodged the title page, because I didn't want those darn stickers to peel off. My two new best friends; ModPodge and my Sewing Machine.
I can give you a tutorial on the blog thing later girlie. Right now i'm so tired, my eyes are going to fall off. SO...nite y'alll. Have a lovely weekend S!
