Hey, I’ve always hated how ugly those tissue boxes look, so a makeover was in the cards!! ;)
School starts in just a few days. It seems like so long ago that I was sending my baby girl off to Kindergarten. This year, I’m sending her off to her final year of high school. That’s right…she’ll be a senior! It is so hard to believe sometimes – and I wonder where in the time has gone.
You know those times your friends say, “cherish the time now before they grow up” “they grow up fast'”…well, it really is true!! I feel so blessed to have my kids.
So in honour of back to school and remembering how I was feeling sending my little off to High School in a few days, I made this picture frame, which I plan on putting in my bedroom.
Doesn’t that photo just break your heart?? What a cutie patootie she was, but oh so very sad to be leaving mommy. I was a mess too – her daddy had to take her to school, while I sat at home and cried until she got home.
And Jory starts high school this year!!!
I ordered some of those crochet flowers and they arrived today and they were as gorgeous in real life as they look in the Etsy shop. If you ever have some free time you should check out http://www.etsy.com . It’s an online store where you can buy all things handmade! It’s awesome.
I’m showing you the flower here (it is set in the middle of a large flower, which I picked up at the Dollarama)…I added the leaves from my stash and some rubons around it. I really like how it turned out.
A friend of mine posted an “ALTER IT” challenge. **Alter something, alter anything!! AND it was just the inspiration I needed to alter the empty Q-Tips box that was sitting on my bathroom counter for weeks. “KIDS don’t THROW that out…I'm going to use it!” :) That’s right…I altered a Q-Tips box. It was super easy and is something that you can do yourself!!
My kids and are watching American Idol right now…what a great line up of artists tonight. Did you see the Black Eyed Peas sing “BOOM BOOM POW” - - gosh…what is it about that song that makes me wild with happiness? Must finish watching.
Today is National Scrapbooking Day. I worked on these two projects for the scrapping club – in honour of that!! I gave this box to Diane! Isn’t it pretty?
A friend of mine sent me a bunch of this awesome paper. I was so excited, because I remembered I had this photo I wanted to scrap. Now, I don’t know what year this was taken or hold old Dad was here…but I do think that this is Dad sitting on Pepere’s lap?? I’ve started working on a heritage album. I LOVE this layout. I love the photo! Stella, I’ll have to grab some of those pictures you scanned for the DVD…so i can get them all printed! I’ll be busy the next little while. hehehe.
Well, I hope you are all having a great weekend!! The kids and I are at Dennis’ house. This weekend I am filling the garden with manure and washing my car again. It doesn’t take long before it gets dirty! Jory is doing his speech in front of the entire school on Monday. I hope he does well. I never did post it, because he didn’t save it on this PC and I couldn’t copy and paste. One of these nights, I’d like to type it out for you all. It was really good!!
Love you all…. xoxo
Today is Administrative Professional’s Day. So happy APD to me! There are times at the office where I feel like this:

Actually…I feel like that EVERY DAY! :)
Today is also earth day. We are watching American Idol in the dark tonight. ha! (nothing makes us miss this show!)
I thought I’d share this one last layout I did.
I also decorated these candles! Cute huh?
Just wanted to quickly share with you the other two projects I made with the kit tonight – before I go off to bed!!!
I am totally and utterly in love with that box!! Totally!!
It’s been a loooooooong week!! I had to work overtime – you know the kind of work you DON’T like (at the office!). That is why I was so excited to let my hair down, relax and unwind creating these projects. Ain’t it scrumptious?! Brenda…I can soooooooo see that box in your bedroom. ha!
Here’s some close up pics of the box I made. The bottom is made from Cardstock and the top you use patterned paper. I went nuts with floral pieces I purchased from the Dollarama. YES!!! I love to shop for scrap supplies there!!
Here’s another BLING layout I did. I admit that most of the embellishments were not from the kit, but that flocked paper and cardstock are (so that counts right?) :) Inside that adorable little envelope is hidden journalling. *Kind of like a prayer to God.
This next layout is of the HERITAGE Post Office building downtown Ottawa. I love this building…the architecture is amazing!! We live in one heck of a gorgeous city!
This is a photo of Dad when he was a little boy. I’m guessing he would have been about 7 years old?? Anyways, I found this gem from when we did the Christmas DVD for Mom and Dad. I’m really loving older photos lately!! I can’t wait to scrap some more after I get my hands on some. :) Ain’t he cute?? When i was scrapping this I couldn’t help but think my kids look so much like him!!
AND this last layout is one of my Dad also. He was a teenager here…working in some type of store. I believe he would have been about 15! Here he looks like my brother David!
Well folks, thanks so much for looking!! I really enjoyed making these and I couldn’t wait to share them with you. Have a great weekend – I’ll be back on Monday!! I am thinking I might post Jory’s speech on PHOBIA’s on Monday…stay tuned!! It was really well written. :)
I’ve been loving all the cardboard used in scrapbooking projects as of late. I’ve been wanting to make one of these forever!
My crazy son wanted to give perspective of it’s size by standing next to it. *It’s hanging on our living room wall because I love this so much!!! Isn’t it ironic…I made it using the leftover pizza box from the pizza we devoured for dinner. ha!
This is us…the three of us. WE ARE FAMILY!!! AND guess what??? This family loves American IDOL and our favorites for this week are ADAM and ALLISON!! Listening to Allison makes me cry. Her voice is insane!!! Who is your favorite??
