Wednesdays are terrible TV nights

Thank you all for your prayers for my Jory. He's feeling better now. All there is left is a few sniffles and a bit of a clogged nose. OTC medicine will take care of that! Tonight, there is nothing on TV. I wish it was Tuesday or Thursday...because Wednesday's absolutely suck for TV. I should be cleaning, but nooooooooooo...i wanted to finish up the November Alternate kit from my Scrapbook club.

I know it's kinda girly with the flowers on the side, but I wanted to scrap those pictures of Liam and well...i went with the flow. The look on his face tells exactly what he's thinking, "OMG, it's an amazing view from up here at the top of the apple tree!" Don't you think?? ;)

David...i want to see some pictures of Natasha...i haven't seen her in a long time and i wanna see how much she's grown!!  Update your Facebook eh?!  ;)  CIAO!!  Love you's all!!

Tuesday TV and an update on Jory

Tonight I am chillaxin' with the kids on the couch. Jory's neck is feeling better now, but he seems to have a cold now. Viruses this time of the year can drive you crazy. I'm going to book him for allergy testing this week. We're going to live, but thank you for your thoughts and prayers. :)

This morning we had a little snow and Kayla's bus ended up in the ditch. (Second time this fall!) The bus driver told them to get off the bus and find their own way to school. Can you believe that?? Luckily, her two friends had just gotten on the bus and lived around the corner. So she camped out at their house until I picked her up and brought her home. She was happy to skip a day, but i was really ticked at Public Transit! Grrrr!!!

Has anyone ever watched "My Shocking Story" on The Learning Channel?? Jory and I watch this every week and I have to say this show really makes you feel blessed and fortunate to be healthy.
After this we watch Mystery Diagnosis. I love Medical shows...reminds me of how much I wanted to be a nurse. :(

AND tonight I made one more layout. I really love this Chatterbox line and especially that stitched felt. To die for!! :) Here's the layout I made of Kayla with her Math Department Award of Merit for grade 10!! She was so surprised to get it but so proud because she works so hard and struggles so much - she deserved it! Proud of you baby.

Say a prayer for Jory

Jory has not been feeling well. He's had a really stiff neck, extreme headaches, swollen lymp nodes and dry throat for 3 days. This morning he woke up and had a droopy eye lid. I rushed him to the clinic and the doctor told me to treat the symptoms. Cold for the eyes, and pain meds for the neck. I'm a little concerned though - so please pray for him, that he recovers quickly.

I scrapped tonight. It felt good!! Haven't done much scrapping lately and I missed it. I used my November Alternate Kit for the Design Team work for these ones. :)

Twilight

Twilight was awesome!
So we had purchased our tickets a few days in advance. It was a good thing. They had sold out the day before. We got home from school/work around 3 and even though the movie started at 6:30, we decided to head out early, so we could get a bite to eat and beat the crowds. By chance, we decided to drive by the movie theatre before getting a bite just to see if there was anyone lined up yet.
There was.
So...the girls decided it was best to stand in line then so we could get good seats. We weren't really dressed for the weather, cuz we weren't expecting to stand in line in the freezing cold for so long. After about 15 mins. we were frozen, so I ran to the closest department store to buy blankets. I got two of them. So there they stood in line with hundreds of other teenaged girls with their blankets. They were all the envy. ha!

We waited in line for a total of 2 and a half hours. We were frozen. It was -18 degrees with the windchill yesterday. BITE!

Then the time came for the manager to open the front doors. Girls everywhere were screaming and started pushing like crazy...once where i was in front, maybe 10 people behind the front door, i was now picked up and pushed back to about the 50th place in line. I was scared!! The girls were swarming...and pushing and i was feeling crushed. I lost the kids. After standing outside for yet another 15 minutes after the doors opened, waiting to get funnelled through the front doors, i finally entered the warm building...and thawed my toes.

We got good seats. Twilight was amazing! What a fabulous movie and I can now see why almost every teenaged girl in North America is crazy about it! Very well written. :) I can't wait to see the next one!!

Here a few pictures I got before my battery died.

Allergies

I had my allergy testing done today.  I'm so bummed.
They rate you on a scale of 1-4 (4 being the highest).  I am a 4 on all of the following (severely allergic).

  • cats
  • dogs
  • dust and mites
  • cockroaches  (ewwwwwwww)
  • birch trees

The doctor suggested I consider allergy shots (immunization).
Ugh...i'm so itchy right now I want to scratch the hell out of my self.
So...I have to wear a mask when I clean the house and I should consider replacing upholstered furniture and curtains, and covering my mattress and boxspring.  I need to wash all of my bedding at least once a week.  There goes the feather pillows and duvet.  ARRGGHHH!  I'm so upset....I love my feather duvet!!  But doc is right, my sinuses are messed up so bad, and the headaches from the sinuses are slowly driving me to insanity.  Looks like I'll be cleaning next few weeks - that is...AFTER I buy a mask!

Doctor was funny...told me to stay away from Birch Trees.   Well guess friggin' what??????????  I am surrounded by a vast forest both here and at Dennis' house.  CRAP! And...I have two cats (which Girl #1 and Guy love to death) and the BF has a dog who's been in the family for ALOT of years!!

Looks like I will have no choice but to go with the allergy shots. I wonder if they really work?? Guess I'll find out.

Monday, Monday

So today, I pre-purchased our Twilight Tickets. We're going on Friday night for 6:30. Kayla can hardly wait!! Got some sad news today. The kids' great uncle on their dad's side, passed away today. Gramma is really sad, and the kids are sorrowful for her pain. God Bless Uncle Tommy.

Jory finished his project this weekend. Him and a partner made a 'can crusher' called the Crushinator! This is him holding up his display board. I gotta say I really love that foam core board. And you can get this stuff at the dollar store! Waaaaaaaaaay back when, Sandra L. gave me her stash of scrapbook goodies that had a hammer and other tools...so we used it for this. Just in case they needed extra marks. I always tell the kids PRESENTATION is one way to make up for marks (just in case you need them!). Jory says it went well today when they presented to the class. That's my boy!!

I went to the doctor's today.  He ordered a chest x-ray, blood work and I finally booked an appointment for allery testing this Wednesday.  I'm gonna get this crap fixed once and for all!!    Other than that, nothing really new at this end.  We're all busy with our projects and school work.  NOW, christmas around the corner, there will be cards to mail, cookies to bake and presents to buy.  I need some time off so bad.  Have a great night!

Post Secret

It's been a while since I posted a favorite Post Secret

Tonight, since it's a stupid TV night with nothing interesting on...I worked on a typing assignment and then browsed Post Secret (which I haven't done in a while). This one made me smile hugely and I thought, "That's it...that's EXACTLY how I feel about my Dennis." No one has ever made me happier. I hope I am totally wrinkled.

Twitter

I got Twitter today. You can follow me as 'sandrasoapbox'. Widget is on the sidebar. :) In other news...Anybody else a Grey's Anatomy Fan?? I think I finally saw the grand finale on Dr. Hahn. (can't stand her). Next weeks previews look totally hot!!

You all heard my mouse stories over the past couple of years. I finally decided to make a layout of the pesky little critters that insist on invading my home! Ugh.

Now...off to decide whether I should go to Dennis' house tonight or wait 'till tomorrow morning. Such decisions. LOL!

Halloween and my 38th Birthday

Halloween was alot of fun for the kids this year, especially Allison who has never been able to go trick-or-treating with the kids before. The girls dressed up as cute little black cats. Jory dressed up as a KING, but a gazillion people thought he was Santa. It was hillarious. I loved his costume! The girls looked beautiful!! meow!

My birthday was amazing in that I got to spend it with Dennis and the kids. It was so nice to be spoiled and get new tires for my car from Dennis. My car rides so wonderful now! Kayla made me and omelet for breakfast - Dennis showed her how. They were delicious. AND Dennis and I had a blast together - as usual. It was just a really happy weekend!! AND I got my eyebrows waxed by Mrs. C....so i am a happy camper!!

Thank you all for the warm birthday wishes, both on facebook and through your emails and phone calls. To me...it's just another day, but it's nice to know that so many people care!! xo
